The Professional Fighter League (PFL), the most progressive and quickly growing sports league, has announced a new sponsorship deal with 888poker in advance of the PFL Europe Championship, which kicks off on December 8.
The regional MMA league, which is being held in Dublin, will have 888poker’s logo on its PFL SmartCage octagon. Along with this, prior to the event, the online poker platform’s branding will also be more prominently displayed on PFL’s social media channels.
James Frewin, SVP International of PFL, commented, “The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is delighted to announce our collaboration with 888Poker, coinciding with the PFL Europe Championship. This partnership with a dynamic brand like 888poker represents an exciting venture, particularly given the strong synergies between the poker community and the mixed martial arts world. The distinctive seasonal format of PFL is set to captivate poker players and enthusiasts globally, as they are accustomed to league and tournament structures that foster engaging narratives and dramatic spectacles.”
On December 8, the PFL Europe Championship will feature two exciting matchups: unbeaten Dakota Ditcheva competing against Valentina Scatizzi in the women’s flyweight championship, and emerging combat sports superstar Simeon Powell taking on Jakob Nedoh in the light heavyweight championship.
Amit Berkovich, VP head of Poker and MD ROW, 888 William Hill, said, “We are delighted to announce our exciting new partnership with the Professional Fighters League. At the heart of this collaboration is our shared passion for entertainment and commitment to providing first-class experiences in our respective spaces. With the PFL’s position in the world of mixed martial arts, together with 888poker’s award-winning gaming platform, this sponsorship deal presents a unique opportunity to reach more diverse audiences. We look forward to the journey that lies ahead and to the innovative projects we will build together.”
PFL Europe is currently experiencing great success after its fight night in Paris shattered all previous records for the most-watched mixed martial arts event in French broadcast history.
The contest follows the same structure as the other significant sports: regular season events followed by individual fighter competition in playoffs and a yearly championship.
