MANILA, Philippines–Chery Tiggo hiked its winning streak to three games in the PVL All-Filipino Conference after completing a comeback win over Nxled, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20, on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena.

Alina Bicar scattered 17 excellent sets in the two-hour and 11-minute encounter to help Chery Tiggo to its fifth win in seven games.

Bicar’s playmaking led to three Crossovers finishing in three digits. Mylene Paat had 15 points, 13 coming from attacks, Eya Laure, who did not play in the final frame, added 12 points including four blocks, while Cess Robles added 11 points from nine kills and two blocks.

“We were really slow in the first part of the game that’s why talagang uminit yung ulo nila coach sa amin,” said Aby Maraño after contributing nine points in the victory. “Sa training naman intense yung ensayo, minsan hindi namin nabibigay agad sa game which is yun dapat yung mai-apply namin.”

“Pag nag start yung game arangkada agad, hindi pwedeng slow tapos maghahabol kami kasi dun kami nahihirapan,” she added.

The Chameleons was the latest conquest of Chery Tiggo after starting its hot streak with the upset of Creamline in straight sets and surviving a five-set marathon clash against Petro Gazz.

It turned Ivy Lacsina’s best outing in a Nxled uniform to naught. Lacsina paced the Chameleons with 20 points while three more finished in twin digits in Lycha Ebon (14 points), Camille Victoria (12 points) and Jho Maraguinot (11 points).

Maraño gave Chery Tiggo the lead after improvising on an attack before Shaya Adorador, Pauline Gaston and Paat pushed the Crossovers toward the victory with the help of Nxled’s errors in the stretch.

Nxled stopped an EJ Laure kill from ending the match but the former University of Santo Tomas stalwart redeemed herself with a crosscourt attack to seal the result.
