Superstar Rajnikanth reunites with Suzuki RV90 bike, first used in his 1983 movie Paayum Puli

When it comes to one of the biggest movie stars in India, the Tamil superstar and legendary actor Rajnikanth’s name is hard to miss. The actor is known for his five-decade-old career in which he has given numerous hits. Recently, the actor was seen going through a journey down memory lane. The immensely popular Tamil cinema icon revisited his illustrious past at the AVM Heritage Museum, situated within the iconic AVM Studios premises in Chennai. At the museum, Rajnikanth was seen sitting on a 1976 Suzuki RV90 motorcycle, which was used by him on screen for his movie “Paayum Puli.”

The highlight of Rajinikanth’s visit was his reunion with the iconic Suzuki RV90 model bike, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by AVM Productions on their page. The post has been shared with the caption stating, “A treasured moment in time… one that you can relive @avmmuseum. Come visit the famed bike used by Superstar @rajinikanth in #PaayumPuli”. A short video in which a person describes the importance of this bike at the museum has also been shared by the company.

The AVM Heritage Museum has been created by MS Guhan, son of AVM Studios’ founder AVM Saravanan. This museum has been created to promote the rich cultural heritage and cinematic legacy of Tamil Nadu. It features a curated collection of over 40 cars and 20 motorcycles featured in Tamil films spanning from the 1960s to the present day. Open to the public from Wednesday to Monday, between 10 am to 5 pm, the museum welcomes visitors to go through the journey of the golden age of Tamil cinema. The entry fee to the museum is Rs 200 for adults and Rs 150 for children.

1976 Suzuki RV90

For those who may not be aware, the 1976 Suzuki RV90, also known as the RV90 Rover, was a small dual-purpose motorcycle produced by Suzuki. This unique-looking motorcycle came powered by an air-cooled, 89cc, two-stroke, single-cylinder engine which made 6.3 bhp. It had a rotary valve induction system, and the engine was mated to a 4-speed transmission with a manual clutch. The bike was designed by Suzuki for the intended purposes of commuting, light off-roading, and general utility.

Rajnikanth RV90 1976

The RV90 featured a rugged design with a high-mounted exhaust, providing ample ground clearance for off-road riding. It came equipped with a step-through frame design, its seat was long and flat. The front suspension of the 1976 RV90 consisted of telescopic forks, while the rear suspension featured dual shock absorbers. It came equipped with knobby tires, which were suitable for both on-road and off-road riding. The RV90 featured drum brakes both front and rear, and it also received electric start as an optional feature, with kick-start being the standard starting method.
