Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes left Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors with a left-hand injury.
Centre Kelly Olynyk — who also left the game in the second quarter — returned to start in Barnes’ place in the second half.
Barnes appeared to have his hand kicked by teammate Immanuel Quickley as he went up to block a shot late in the second quarter.
A first-time All-Star in 2023-24, Barnes is averaging 20 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game on 47.4 per cent shooting from the field for Toronto.
Olynyk left the game after taking a hard fall, landing on his back. The six-foot-11 Toronto native was charging to the rim and leaped to grab an offensive rebound over two Warriors defenders.
The Raptors acquired Olynyk at the trade deadline from the Utah Jazz. Since the deal, the 10-year NBA veteran is averaging 9.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49.0 per cent.
Toronto entered Friday’s game with a 22-37 record, and next plays on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets.
