The yellow warning has been in place since 5pm yesterday, January 1 and will be in place until 5pm today, January 2.

According to the weather forecaster, heavy rain falling on saturated ground is likely to cause some travel disruption.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Following recent wet weather, further spells of rain, heavy in places are expected.
