Electric motorcycle rider in hospital with serious injuries after crash with car

Emergency services were alerted after the collision on Tynemouth Road, in the Howdon area of North Tyneside, at 8.40pm on Wednesday (February 21.
The 23-year-old rider was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 8.40pm on Wednesday (February 21), police received a report that an electric motorcycle had collided with a vehicle on Tynemouth Road, in the Howdon area of North Tyneside.
“Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle – a male aged 23 – was found to have suffered serious injuries to his head, legs and torso in the incident.
“He was taken to hospital by paramedics following the incident and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.”
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision to assist officers with their enquiries.
A section of the road was closed but re-opened a short time later.
An investigation has now been launched by officers into the collision.

They are appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of electric motorcycles being ridden in the area around that time.
