The 30-year-old was last seen in Orchard Road, Southampton, on Friday at 1pm.
A spokesman said: “We are concerned for his welfare and have been making efforts to locate him.
“We are now asking the public to please report any sightings to us.”
James is white with olive or tanned skin, 5ft 9ins twll, has short brown hair and is of athletic build.
Police added: “He was last seen wearing a baby blue Calvin Klein jumper, black coat, black tracksuit bottoms, and black shoes with the Puma logo on.

“Dial 999 in an emergency.”
