Traffic fines handed out in police patrol after cars park in bus lane

Officers from Greater Manchester Police have recently been out in Rumworth on patrol to deter car crime and reassure residents they were dealing with traffic offences.

On seeing this work, PC Wilson from GMP ventured out on February 18 and handed out a number of TORs to people parking in bus lanes. zig zag areas and around crossings.

PC Wilson also educated people on safe driving.

A spokesman for GMP said: “After noticing the work the Rumworth Neighbourhood Team have been conducting on Deane Road in relation to Traffic offences, PC Wilson has been out on 18/02/2024 conducting high visibility patrols and engaging with the public to improve the driving standards in the area.

“PC Wilson has issued a number of traffic offence reports to drivers parking in bus lanes; on zig zag areas around crossings and has also spoken to a number of drivers to educate them on the hazards they present within this busy area of Bolton.

“Addressing poor driving standards is a priority within the communities of Bolton. If you would like to have a say on policing in your community, look out for the next PACT meeting in your local area.”
