Kingston-near-Lewes and West Itchenor were included in the list from The Telegraph which used exclusive research provided by estate agents Savills to help come to their conclusions.
Factors such as best lifestyle amenities, connectivity and aesthetic appeal were also judged.
Discussing creating the list the news outlet wrote: “Whether you wish to retire in the countryside, or want to raise your children in Britain’s great outdoors, finding the perfect village that combines both chocolate-box appeal with necessary amenities can be tricky.”

Kingston-near-Lewes
The Telegraph praised Kingston-near-Lewes for its location near the South Downs Way, ‘green’ community and its classic country pub in The Juggs.
It added: “Just one mile from the South Downs Way, and two miles from Lewes, this village is green in more ways than one.
“There’s a community energy project underway and a pavilion with a living roof. The calendar is packed with yoga classes, bridge nights and whisky tastings.
“There’s a 13th-century church and The Juggs makes for a great second living room.”

The Telegraph praised West Itchenor for its sailing community and for being located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
It added: “West Itchenor is a renowned sailing village at the mouth of Chichester Harbour.
“Within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, cycle routes like the Salterns Way provide beautiful views of the countryside and coast and make The Ship Inn, a pub at the heart of the village, a natural stopping point to enjoy lunch and a pint.
“The village is small and can be quiet during the winter, but comes alive in the summer months when sailing conditions are at their best.”
