Filming for “Toxic Town”, based on the real-life story of the Corby Poisonings, is taking place in Bolton town centre.

The drama is based on the Corby poisonings, one of the UK’s biggest environmental scandals.

In 2010, Corby Borough Council admitted that it had made mistakes in the clean up of the Northamptonshire town’s steelworks.

It was reported that many families reached an out of court settlement after they said their children were born with defects.
