A nursery spokesperson said: “From the date Paint Pots was notified by the local authority of the investigation into Mr Norman, he did not return to work.

“Throughout the process, Paint Pots cooperated fully with the police and the Local Authority over this very serious matter.

“Although none of the offences relate to Mr Norman’s employment at Paint Pots, we take this matter extremely seriously and conducted a thorough review of his employment to ensure our employment and safeguarding processes were and continue to be as robust as possible.

“The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority and we continually review our practices to ensure that our nurseries are safe, secure and nurturing environments.”
