Emergency abseil mission to rescue injured paragliders stuck on incline

Crews from East and West Sussex fire brigades were called to Devils Dyke where the paragliders had landed.

Emergency workers then abseiled down a steep incline and placed the paragliders on to stretchers which were then hoisted up the hill.

Paramedics joined around a dozen fire fighters on scene and were on hand to provide treatment once the paragliders were back up the hill.

South East Coast Ambulance Service and the fire services have been contacted for comment.
