Man in hospital with facial injuries after beach ‘attack’ – second man arrested

The man suffered the injuries after the reported attack in Denmark Place in Hastings in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A 34-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquires.

The victim of the alleged attack remains in hospital.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Officers investigating the assault are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault, or who saw any disturbances in the town centre area around that time.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 144 of 03/10.”
