In a statement, a spokesperson for Southampton City Council said: “We can confirm that a tree fell in Hollybrook Cemetery on Saturday afternoon.

“Colleagues are currently on site removing the fallen tree, which, due to its size and position, will likely be completed on Tuesday, October 17.

“Once clear, we will assess the damage caused as well as if any of the neighbouring trees have been affected.”

The tree can be seen lying dormant sideways on the ground, covering a sizeable plot of land.
