‘We just want you home’: Family issue emotional plea to bring home missing man

59-year-old David Chambers from South Tyneside was last seen in the Western Road area of Jarrow at 11:30am on Tuesday (October 17) and has not been seen or heard from since.
His family have now released an emotional statement as extensive enquiries and searches by officers with Northumbria Police to locate David continue.

In a statement, David’s family said: “David, please get in touch as soon as you can to let us know you are safe.
“Along with your family, many of your friends are desperate to hear that you are well.
“We just want you home and back with us.
“If anyone thinks they may have seen David since he went missing, please contact the police.”
The takeaway delivery driver is described as white, 5ft 9in tall and of stocky build with a bald head.
He has several tattoos including an Iron Maiden tattoo on his forearm, a tattoo of the Newcastle United crest on his shoulder and another tattoo on the top of his arm.
It is believed David could be wearing a blue and black padded jacket, black joggers and black trainers.

The officer leading the search, Detective Chief Inspector Laura Stabler, of Northumbria Police, said: “David’s family and friends are desperate for news of his whereabouts and we are doing everything we can to locate him.
“I would appeal to members of the public that if you think you have information which could assist us in finding David – no matter how insignificant you feel it may be – please contact us immediately.”
