Balloonists from across Europe wowed the crowds with their colourful creations, flying above the splendid backdrop of Castle Howard.

The North Yorkshire stately home and its grounds is the setting for this year’s fiesta, which began with a stunning night glow display.

Unique balloon shapes on show included a frog, a chicken in an egg and a bear. The night glow featured an iconic ship balloon brought from the Netherlands specially for the event.
