Toronto Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly is one of the people the Milwaukee Brewers are considering for their vacant managerial job, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported Tuesday.

Rosenthal says others in the mix are Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy, Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada, Los Angeles Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough, Astros hitting coach Troy Snitker, and former Brewers infielder Rickie Weeks.
The Brewers’ job opened up on Monday when Craig Counsell accepted a five-year deal from the Chicago Cubs.
Mattingly joined the Blue Jays prior to last season, working under manager John Schneider. The team was swept in the wild-card round by the Minnesota Twins.
Prior to joining the Blue Jays, the former New York Yankees star was manager of the Miami Marlins from 2016-22 and manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2011-15. He guided the Dodgers to the playoffs three times and the Marlins once.
