Resto-modded Ambassador Avigo with sunroof for sale
[ad_1]
The Hindustan Ambassador is one of the most iconic cars in Indian automotive history. This iconic sedan served as the official vehicle for many politicians for decades. Not only for politicians, but it was also a status symbol for many affluent families in the country. As we already know, Hindustan Motors stopped the production of the Ambassador and wrapped up their operations completely. Even today, there are numerous examples of well-maintained Ambassador sedans from different parts of the country. Here, we have an Ambassador Avigo sedan available for sale at a very interesting price.
The advertisement for this Hindustan Ambassador has been posted by a seller from Rajasthan. The sedan seen here is an Avigo variant introduced in the market before the Ambassador Grand. This version of the Ambassador has minor differences when compared to the older versions. The Ambassador seen here looks exceptionally well-maintained. The entire car is finished in a blue shade, which complements the car’s appearance. It appears that the current owner has given the car a resto-mod makeover.

The car comes with halogen round headlamps, an Avigo front grille, and the bumper is also finished in the body color. An LED light bar has been installed on the bumper. Moving to the side profile, the car features aftermarket alloy wheels. They are not significantly larger, likely the same size as the stock wheels. Black accents can be seen on the fenders, and the door handles are also finished in black. The original chrome garnishes around the windows have been retained, and chrome strips can be seen on the tailgate. The tail lamps on this sedan do not resemble the Avigo units; they seem more like the ones on the Ambassador Grand. Additionally, a metal bumper protector is visible at the rear.
As this was a later version of the Ambassador, it came with a slightly different-looking cabin. The dashboard was designed to have a more modern appearance for a car of that time. The interior of this car has also been completely redone. It’s apparent that the owner of this car has a strong preference for the color blue. The blue theme on the exterior continues inside the cabin as well. The door pads are covered in blue fabric, and the center console is also finished in a blue shade. The dashboard has a silver finish, and the steering wheel appears to be stock. The instrument cluster is centrally located on the dashboard.
It appears that the owner did not show interest in adding power windows to this car, as manual window winders can be seen in the pictures. The seats have also been reupholstered in blue fabric. The main attraction of this sedan is the electric sunroof, likely added by the owner during the restoration process. In terms of details, this is a 2009 model Hindustan Ambassador sedan. The seller has not provided much information about the car in the ad. However, it is mentioned that the car comes with a petrol engine, is registered in Rajasthan, and is available for the asking price of Rs 2.75 lakh.
