Bollywood actor Rohit Roy rides superbike without helmet: Says it’s ‘only for video’

The world of Bollywood and TV celebrities is filled with a few automotive enthusiasts. One of those people is the popular TV and movie actor Rohit Roy. Over the last few years, the actor has shared numerous clips of him enjoying his passion for bikes. Most recently, he has shared another short video clip of him enjoying his Rs 12 lakh Indian Scout Bobber motorcycle near his home. The post has garnered a ton of likes but has also received a lot of criticism as the actor was seen without proper riding gear on his super expensive cruiser motorcycle.
This short video of him riding his matte black Indian Scout Bobber motorcycle has been shared on Instagram by Rohit Roy. The video features the theme song “Arjan Vally” from Ranbir Kapoor’s superhit movie “Animal.” Rohit Roy in this video was seen wearing flip flops while riding his motorcycle at slow speed around his home. The actor shared the video with the caption stating, “DISCLAIMER: Just rode for pics n vids! I never ever get on a bike without proper gear, esp my helmet!”
Netizens’ reactions to the Disclaimer
As mentioned above, the actor shared a disclaimer for not wearing a helmet and the proper riding gear. However, despite this, a number of netizens on his post were critical as they stated that adding a caption does not compensate for the avoidance of safety gear. They stated that even if the bike was ridden for a short video, he should have worn a helmet if not a full riding gear.
The netizens insisted that this puts forward a wrong precedent, as more people then get encouraged to do things like this. Also, a few people stated that if he had to shoot this video without the safety gear, he should not have come out on the busy roads and instead shot this video inside his gated society. However, despite a few critics, a number of Rohit’s fans were appreciating his bike.
Rohit Roy’s Indian Scout Bobber
Talking about appreciation of his bike, for those who may not be aware, it is an Indian Scout Bobber which the actor bought for himself back in 2018. The actor at the time paid Rs 11.99 lakh for this bike, which has now increased to Rs 17.16 lakh. The Indian Scout Bobber is a cruiser motorcycle that features a beautiful and menacing-looking matte black paint job opted by the actor.
The Indian Scout Bobber comes powered by the same 1311-cc, V-twin engine that powers the standard Scout. This massive engine generates a maximum power of 99 bhp along with a peak torque of 98 Nm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The motorcycle rides on a set of new telescopic forks up front, while the rear suspension has been lowered by 25 mm. Both the wheels get disc brakes, and ABS is offered as standard.
Rohit Roy’s Ultraviolette F77 EV motorcycle
Apart from this massive cruiser motorcycle, the actor recently also bought one of India’s fastest electric motorcycles, the Ultraviolette F77. He has bought a brand new Ultraviolette F77 electric bike, specifically the Space Edition version, launched earlier this year in the market, costing around Rs 5.60 lakh, ex-showroom. The Space Edition of the Ultraviolette F77 was launched in homage to India’s Chandrayaan 3 space mission, with only 10 units manufactured.
