The Chennai-based bike maker, Royal Enfield, just a few days ago announced the commencement of “The Final Test.” The company announced that they will be riding the soon-to-be-launched Himalayan 450 from Chennai to Umling La. Recently, Royal Enfield shared a video showing the exact moment that the team, along with the new Himalayan 450 Adventure motorcycles, reached Umling La Pass – the highest motorable pass in the world. The company CEO himself rode one of the very first Himalayan 450 bikes to the pass.

The end of “The Final Test”

The video of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Adventure motorcycle finishing the final test has been shared on YouTube by the bike maker’s official channel. It starts off with a few cinematic shots of the mountains and the deserted roads of the Umling La Pass, along with a few clear shots of the new Himalayan 450. Soon after this, the company CEO, B. Govindarajan, is seen in the video, and he gives a voiceover of their achievement.

Govindarajan states that they commenced this final test from the Royal Enfield factory in Oragadam, Chennai, which is at an elevation of 22 feet. He then added that after numerous days of relentless riding for over 5,000 kms, they have finally reached their destination. The CEO mentions that the entire team and Himalayan 450 adventure motorcycle have reached the Umling La Pass, which is the highest motorable pass in the world with an elevation of 19,024 feet. Before the end of the video, it shares the launch location coordinates and date of 7th November 2023 of the new Himalayan 450.

As mentioned, next month the Chennai-based bike maker will be launching the all-new Himalayan 450 adventure motorcycle in India. The company this time around has changed a ton of things on the Himalayan. The all-new Himalayan 450 will come equipped with an all-new steel trellis frame. This new frame will be different from the outgoing model and will bring a lot of changes to the structure and design of the bike.

The forthcoming adventure motorcycle will get a USD fork suspension setup at the front and a monoshock in the rear. This time around, the headlight has also been changed, and it now features an LED setup on the inside. Additionally, the indicator design has been updated. Another one of the biggest updates of the bike will be that it will come equipped with a single circular digital LCD display. This new screen will display all the essential information of the bike. It will most likely also be offered with Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, the switchgear on the handlebar has been revamped.

In terms of the powerplant, the company has made a huge update. The new Himalayan 450 will become the first-ever Royal Enfield to feature a liquid-cooled engine. This engine has been built from scratch by the Chennai-based bike maker and will be a completely new 450cc single-cylinder engine. This new engine will most likely produce around 40 bhp of power and 45 Nm of torque. As for the gearbox, it will likely be a six-speed unit.
