NFL expected to drag out its investigation into Joe Burrow injury

Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow will miss the rest of the season with a wrist injury, but that’s not stopping the NFL from investigating an incident involving the hurt quarterback.
Burrow was seen wearing a wrist brace in a video before the team’s 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on “Thursday Night Football” last week but he wasn’t included on the injury report.
That investigation is expected to be a lengthy one, likely spanning several weeks, with the league having to go through several steps to evaluate whether or not the Bengals violated any of the league’s policies about reporting injuries, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who detailed what that process looks like Monday on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“With Joe Burrow, what will happen is the league will go back and talk to Bengals’ officials about why he wasn’t on the report and what their explanation was,” Schefter explained. “What the league can do is request the videos of those practices. Was he a full participant? Did he have any sort of limitations? The practices are on video. They are there to see. The league will, I would imagine, request the footage of those practices and get an idea of whether he was or wasn’t hurt.”
