Sadhguru led the inaugural lap at the first-ever MotoGP Bharat India Grand Prix

MotoGP Grand Prix weekend in India has commenced. This is the first time ever that the highest class of motorcycle racing, sanctioned by the FIA, has been organized in India. The race is scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 IST at the Buddh International Circuit. A number of high-profile celebrities are attending this adrenaline-filled event, and one of those personalities is the highly popular yoga and motivational speaker, Yogi Sadhguru. He attended the event and led the first inaugural lap before the practice sessions commenced on a super-expensive BMW motorcycle.
The founder of Isha Foundation, Yogi Sadhguru, prior to the practice sessions, led a lap on his BMW R 1250 RT touring bike. He did this alongside the BMW M2 safety car of the MotoGP at the track. The pictures of Sadhguru with his motorcycle and the safety car were shared by MotoGPBharat on their official Instagram page. The pictures were shared with the caption, “MotoGP Bharat is honored to have @sadhguru at the @buddh.international.circuit for the #IndianGP inauguration! #BraceTheRace.”

In the pictures, the immensely popular Yogi Sadhguru was seen wearing a full tracksuit for his ride alongside the BMW M2 safety car. The safety car for the first-ever MotoGP Bharat is BMW’s newest iteration of its nimble sportscar, the M2. Sadhguru, for his inaugural lap, was riding his personal BMW R 1250 RT motorcycle worth a whopping Rs 25 lakh. His touring motorcycle was covered with stickers of his campaign “Save Soil.”
Sadhguru, despite being a well-known Yogi, is also an avid automotive enthusiast. He is well known in the riding community for his biking adventures, which recently included his world tour on his motorcycle to raise awareness for the protection and conservation of soil. As mentioned, he was riding his personal BMW R 1250 RT at the BIC. This ultra-expensive motorcycle comes powered by a 1254cc BS6 engine, which produces a maximum power of 134.1 bhp and a torque of 143 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, BMW R 1250 RT comes with an anti-locking braking system. This R 1250 RT bike weighs 279 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 25 liters.
First ever MotoGP Bharat India Grand Prix at BIC
As mentioned, the first-ever Indian Grand Prix race weekend has commenced at the Buddh International Circuit. A total of 82 riders from 41 teams will be participating in various races, including Moto2, Moto3, and MotoGP. The MotoGP event began at 9 am on Friday and is being live-streamed on the JioCinema app. Tickets for the event have already been sold out.
The race weekend commenced on September 22, Friday, and the first practice was scheduled at 4:00 PM. Sadhguru drove his motorcycle on the track right before this practice session. The second practice session was scheduled for 10:40 AM today, on September 23, Saturday. The first qualifying session was also scheduled earlier today, from 11:20 AM to 11:35 AM. Meanwhile, the qualifying session 2 was scheduled for 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM. Lastly, the sprint was scheduled for 3:30 PM on Saturday.
The main race of MotoGP has been scheduled for September 24, Sunday. The warm-up lap will take place from 11:10 AM to 11:20 AM IST, and finally, the main race event will take place at 3:30 PM IST. As mentioned, this race is a huge event and is especially important for all the automotive enthusiasts in the country. The entire circuit is filled with MotoGP fans, and a ton of popular celebrities are attending this event and promoting it.
