BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 14, 2024) – The Southeastern Conference will once again utilize TrackMan technology for conference baseball games during the 2024 season to help train and educate SEC umpires.

TrackMan uses patented Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking (OERT) to deliver data from tracking systems installed in baseball stadiums. The TrackMan stadium system is used by more than 250 colleges around the country.

The SEC will use data delivered by TrackMan to monitor each pitch of every game for accuracy by SEC umpires and will use the resulting information to train, educate and improve performance.

“For a third consecutive season, TrackMan is excited to continue and expand our relationship with the Southeastern Conference to provide in-game data to help train and educate umpires,” said James Snikeris, NCAA account manager for TrackMan. “The SEC has been at the forefront of using TrackMan data as a tool to best serve their student athletes, coaches, and fans. TrackMan is proud to be the exclusive ball tracking provider for one of the prominent baseball conferences in college. The TrackMan stadium technology will be used in 13 of the 14 SEC programs, which further exemplifies the commitment each program has to player development of their student athletes.”

TrackMan is used by all 30 Major League Baseball teams, top amateur organizations, prominent collegiate summer leagues and is embedded in more than 500 stadiums around the world.

The technology will be used for all conference baseball games and the SEC Baseball Tournament.
