SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – You could say wedding vows carry more weight for Barbara Kass and Dr. Lewis Taub. As newlyweds in their nineties, they know every day together is a gift.
The couple met six years ago at a local senior center. They were widowers, both seeking companionship. This past Thanksgiving, they tied the knot after Barbara popped the question.
“After about six years, I got the idea that I’d like to be married to him, so I proposed. And he agreed…which was nice. It wasn’t on bended knee because if I had been, I wouldn’t have been able to get up,” she said.
The couple has been under the care of The Community Hospice for more than a year now. They believe that between the care they receive, and their new-found love, that they’re living longer.
