Interlagos Blue Jahre G80 M3 Build Thread
[ad_1]
First BMW and won’t be the last!
I have been thinking about a new daily driver for the last year or so and had looked at Taycans, BMW, Audi, Merc & Tesla but nothing seemed to really get me really excited. I have a C7 track toy and was running some events this summer when I started to see some G80s and the performance/lap times with them pretty much had me in shock for a 38/3900lb car. After reading tons of forum threads and YT vids, it was literally a month or so and I was convinced this was the car for me.
It literally took only a couple of weeks from the G80 peaking my interest to being absolutely sold on this car. I popped into my local dealer and dropped a deposit for an allocation back in July. I was told the allocation would come sometime in September and as I was waiting and reading more and more on these cars, I came across the Jahre.
Being in Canada we recently had a luxury tax implemented for vehicles over 100k. As I read more about the Jahre, and knowing that if I picked one up second hand, the tax would already have been paid on the car. So the hunt began…
Came across this Jahre on the west coast with about 7500km and 6-8k CAD in mods. The owner was actually looking to move to an M5. Long story short, I pulled my allocation and bought this Jahre and had it shipped about 3500km to me. The cost of this Jahre ended up being a bit cheaper vs a 2024 non-Jahre fully loaded w/luxury tax which was a no brainer for me as far as value retention and features go.
The car was delivered at the end of September and has blown my mind since. Here is a list of mods the car arrived with:
– H&R Springs

Future plans?
It’s a slippery slope as cars are like crack and I can’t hold myself back from buying more parts – Currently debating downpipe/catback and thinking about MAD catted + Valvetronic Ti system. Will likely also order some wheels over the winter and thinking I will switch out the H&R’s for KW HAS kit.
I did manage to get the car out to my local track before the end of season. The car ran an 11.289 @ 121.27 stock, ended up going over to road course as well and threw down some flyers, then went into drift mode and absolutely murdered the rear tires
Now here is where things get interesting for me. I have built a beast of a vette that I track regularly but having an M7 pains me a bit… Last weekend I was in EU for business and ended up going to Spa and had the opportunity to take out a track prepped Dayvtec M2. I had the last hour of the day in this car through sunset to sundown and to say it was incredible is an understatement. After this thread is posted, I may be heading to the vette forums to post up a feeler FS thread with a future Supra or M2 on the horizon….
Enough rambling for now! If you come across this thread and are debating an M3, you won’t be disappointed! Some pics of the Jahre, vette and a lap video from last weekend at Spa below.
Cheers
