Some exerpts of the G87:
About $4000 more than the Dark Horse and making nearly as much horsepower, the BMW M2 is a more silken companion than the Ford. Its blunt face disguises a sleek personality that’s eager and confident.

“There’s a lot really right with this car,” scribbled editor-at-large Matt Farah. “The best BMW shifter in a long time. Fantastic brakes. The *progressive traction control is great for drivers at all levels. And when traction control is turned off, the M2 is a proper hooligan set up to oversteer everywhere.”

Delivering 453 hp with a massively forgiving torque curve, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six feels more at home in the M2 than any other BMW. “Such a great engine,” wrote Bovingdon after his 1:24.1 lap. “So fast, and the balance over the limit is so easy to manipulate. This is what people like to imagine is the feel of a Miata, only with a shitload of power.”

Perhaps the best praise in the article is this:
“It’s the best-driving BMW on sale now,”

Oddly enough, the car that performed the worst, by like a freaking mile, won the PCOTY under $100K, the Integra Type S.
