Weeks ago, Czech automaker Skoda Auto confirmed the launch of a new sub-compact SUV. The company announced that this new sub-4m SUV will be launched around the month of March 2025. Now, a rendering of this upcoming sub-compact SUV has been shared online. The render gives us an idea of what the upcoming Skoda sub-4 meter SUV could look like.
Skoda Sub-4 Meter Compact SUV Rendering
This Skoda sub-4m SUV render comes courtesy SRK Designs. From the rendered version of the upcoming sub-compact SUV, Skoda’s typical design language comes through. The front end looks very classy, with proper SUV proportions.
At front, we can note that the main highlight will be Skoda’s signature grille. The rendered car gets full LED headlamps. Additionally, there is a smaller LED DRL strip at the bottom. The front bumper also looks very aggressive and sporty. The bumper gets a silver skid plate that adds to the rugged appearance of this sub-compact SUV from Skoda.
Moving on to the side profile, the car has been imagined with a single, sharp body line and huge wheel arches. It may be noted that the alloy wheels and tires of this rendering are huge. But in reality, when the car arrives, they’re likely to be downsized for cost, ride quality and mileage purposes.
The overall side profile looks very similar to the Kushaq compact SUV. However, it is being speculated that it will be around 22 cm/220 mm shorter than its sibling. As per the company, this new model will be based on the same MQB A0-IN platform. This platform currently underpins the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Taigun.
Powertrain Specifications
The SUV is likely to get 1.0 TSI turbocharged, 3 cylinder petrol unit producing 115 Bhp and 178 Nm. A staple on the Kushaq and Slavia, this rev-happy motor should suit the new sub-4 meter compact SUV quite well.
As for the transmissions, they will most likely also be the same as the ones offered on the Kushaq and Slavia. Options include 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. Reports have stated that this model could boast slightly higher fuel efficiency than the Kushaq with the 1.0-litre engine, as the new SUV will be smaller and lighter.
Pricing
Coming to the pricing of this upcoming model, it will most likely be offered in the range of Rs 9-14 lakh. Currently, this segment is dominated by Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon. Other players in this space include the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300.
It has been reported that this compact SUV will be launched as a global model. This means that it will be exported to various markets like South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Skoda is aiming to achieve significant sales figures in India, and is targeting 1 lakh units annually, and a 5% market share by 2030.
