Strictly’s Craig breaks silence over Amanda exit saying he’s ‘so disappointed’

STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has shared his disappointment over Amanda Abbington’s shock exit from the show.
The Sherlock actress withdrew from the series last week days after missing round four of the competition.
Amanda’s impressive performances on the dance floor had made her a contender for the glitterball.
Speaking to Best magazine, judge Craig said: “I was so sad to hear that Amanda Abbington had withdrawn from the competition. I couldn’t wait to see her dance the cha-cha-cha alongside pro partner Giovanni Pernice…
“So I’m disappointed I won’t get to see their future dances, but I enjoyed watching her Strictly journey and wish her all the best.”
Last night Amanda hinted at feeling “pushed over the edge” as she urged people to “be kind” in her first interview since her exit.
Speaking on Boogaloo Radio, she said: “My thing at the moment is ‘be kind’, it’s always been ‘be kind’.
“It’s, ‘You don’t know what someone else is going through, you have no idea what’s going on in their life so before you say anything hateful and cruel just check yourself’.”
She continued: “It takes so much more energy to be hateful, to be horrible, where you could just not say anything or say something positive.
“We’re living in a world where the laptop and the phone and social media allows you to say whatever you want without any recrimination, and you have no idea what that comment could do to someone – it could push someone over the edge to do something and God knows we have to look after each other.”
The star shared a statement last week confirming she had quit Strictly and cited her “deepest regret” over the “personal reasons” that prompted her exit from the contest.
She added that she “did not come to this decision easily or lightly… I’m so sad I am unable to go any further”.
Strictly’s Giovanni failed to comment after Amanda refused to mention him or thank him in her statement.
Beneath her post dozens of Strictly pros and celeb contestants wished her well, and her fiancé, Britain’s Got Talent daredevil Jonathan, penned: “You are so incredible.
“So unbelievably beautiful but also incredibly brave. I’m so proud to be your man xx.”
