DENVER (KDVR) — The Lakewood Police Department was involved in a unique arrest when they caught a suspect while he was using the restroom.
“You know the ol’ adage ‘caught with your pants down?’” That’s what Lakewood police tweeted on X, formally known as Twitter, on Feb. 29 when they caught a burglary suspect.
According to the department, agents were called to a property after a verified burglary alarm went off. The agents used drones to locate the suspect, and unfortunately, he was caught in an inopportune position.
“While we see a lot of things in the line of doody, we had no clue what awaited us this time!” said Lakewood police.
Body camera footage posted to X shows two agents with their guns drawn preparing to open a door to a restroom. When the door opens, the agents were met with the suspect who was using the toilet.
The suspect was taken to jail. Lakewood police added that he was arrested after pulling his pants up.
The man is being held on second-degree burglary charges.
