SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A SWAT team has been called to a home in San Diego’s Valencia Park neighborhood where police have been attempting to contact a suspect for several hours.
San Diego police officers have been at the home located in the 5100 block of Coban Street since around 10:45 a.m. According to SDPD, SWAT was called to the scene around noon. By 1 p.m., around 30 officers and multiple police vehicles were in the area.
Neighbors on either side of the home appeared to have been escorted out of their homes, although no other evacuations were issued in the area. It is unclear if any road closures were put in place around the standoff.
Other residents of the neighborhood FOX 5 spoke with said they know the residents of the home and had seen several people leave the home within the last hour.
No additional details about the suspect or what preceded the apparent standoff were immediately available.
