In a remarkable feat, Tata Motors has reached a significant production milestone with its immensely popular Tata Punch SUV, crossing the 3 lakh units mark within a little over two years since its launch. The small SUV has become a powerhouse in Tata Motors’ lineup, consistently ranking among the top 10 cars sold in India.

The carmaker celebrated this achievement by sharing an image of the Punch SUV, symbolizing the tremendous success it has garnered in the Indian market. Notably, Tata Motors achieved one lakh Punch SUV sales in the last nine months alone, showcasing the growing demand for this compact SUV.

Launched in October 2021, the Tata Punch has swiftly become one of the best-selling SUVs in India, holding the second position after the Nexon SUV in Tata Motors’ lineup. With an average monthly sale of around 10,000 units, the Punch has earned its spot in the list of top 10 cars consistently.

The journey to the 3 lakh production milestone reflects the Punch’s rapid ascent. It took 10 months from the date of its launch to reach the first one lakh production milestone. Subsequently, the next 50,000 units were achieved in just five months by January of the following year. By May-end, the Punch had notched up its two lakh production milestone, and now, within another nine months, it has reached the impressive 3-lakh production milestone.

Tata Punch is offered in both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) versions, providing a versatile choice for consumers. Additionally, an all-electric version of the Punch is set to be introduced later this year, further expanding Tata Motors’ electric vehicle portfolio.

Tata Punch Specifications, Variants, and Features:

Tata Motors offers the Punch SUV with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, capable of delivering 85 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is available with both a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Notably, Tata’s iCNG technology is also an option, featuring a dual-cylinder setup.

The Punch SUV is available in four trims spread across eight variants, providing consumers with a range of choices. The base Pure and Pure (O) variants come with a manual transmission, while the subsequent Adventure, Adventure (O), Accomplished, Accomplished (O), Creative, and Creative (O) variants are available with both MT and AMT options.
Priced competitively, the Tata Punch starts at ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Pure variant, reaching up to ₹9.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top Creative (O) variant.

The Punch SUV boasts an array of features, including push-button start, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, auto-folding ORVMs, cooled glovebox, rear-seat armrest, seven-inch infotainment screen, and more.

In anticipation of evolving consumer preferences towards electric mobility, Tata Motors has confirmed the launch of four electric vehicles by early 2024, including the Tata Punch EV. The Punch EV is expected to utilize Tata’s Ziptron technology, offering a range of more than 300 km in a single charge in the long-range version.

The Tata Punch’s journey to the 3 lakh production milestone stands as a testament to its widespread acceptance and success in the Indian automotive market. As it continues to be a favorite among consumers, the Punch SUV reaffirms its position as a formidable player in the SUV segment.
