The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO arrives with multiple performance enhancements – The Torque Report

[ad_1]

Nissan has unveiled the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO, bringing numerous visual and mechanical upgrades to the legendary sportscar.

The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO features a 20 hp increase to its twin-turbo V6, upping output to 420 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. These improved numbers were achieved through numerous improvements, including revised electronic wastegate control, enhanced cooling, and independent ignition spark timing. This will be paired with a new Sport+ drive mode to deliver a racetrack-tuned shift program to take full advantage of the revised powertrain’s faster downshift capability.

Other mechanical enhancements include a revised suspension to enhance grip, precision, and predictability, a stiffened chassis, and an enhanced brake system with larger front brakes. Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT600 tires will be fitted to lightweight NISMO-specific gloss black RAYS 19-inch wheels. These wheels are wider and lighter than the 19-inch wheels on the Z Performance trim.

Outside, you’ll find numerous NISMO-specific upgrades. These include revised front styling Nissan has dubbed “Grand-Nose” (or “G-Nose” for short), meant to recall the heritage Nissan Fairlady 240ZG. Other exterior enhancements consist of a taller, wider three-piece rear spoiler, a reshaped rear bumper, redesigned side sills, and canards at the vehicle’s front corner; all meant to improve aerodynamics.

The 2024 Nissan NISMO’s interior has also been upgraded with red anodized engine start/stop, and drive mode select buttons and updated graphics for the fully digital TFT meter. Drivers will enjoy leather and Alcantara Recaro seats featuring NISMO logos on the headrests and a new steering wheel with a red accent mark at the 12 o’clock position. Rounding out the interior upgrades is Amazon Alexa connectivity.

The catch? The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO will only be available with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This transmission includes a revised clutch pack for faster shifting, but those looking to shift gears for themselves will need to opt for either the Z Sport or Z Performance trim levels.

The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO goes on sale this fall with an MSRP of $64,990.
