The struggle for women’s healthcare in the Scottish Highlands

There are inevitable challenges to providing healthcare to the 25,000 or so people living in Caithness in the Scottish Highlands, but imagine having to drive three hours down one of the UK’s most dangerous roads to give birth, or get urgent women’s healthcare.

That’s why some feel they’re being failed by a lack of access to local services and question if it’s a breach of their human rights.

Our Scotland Correspondent Kathryn Samson travelled to Caithness to hear their stories.
