The fourth automobile on this list is none other than the German carmaker Volkswagen’s Virtus mid-size sedan. The Volkswagen Virtus managed to score a respectable 29.71 out of 34 stars in adult occupant protection. Meanwhile, it scored around 42 out of 49 points in child occupant protection. Skoda Slavia
The Skoda Slavia, which is the cousin of the Volkswagen Virtus, has also managed to score the exact same points in the crash tests. With its rigid body structure and active safety systems, it has become very popular in the country and it starts at Rs 11.53 lakh.
Skoda Kushaq
Following the footsteps of its siblings, the mid-size SUV from the Czech automaker Skoda – the Kushaq has secured the sixth position on this list. The Skoda Kushaq has scored 29.64 out of 34 points and 42 out of 49 points in adult and child occupant protection, respectively. This popular SUV starts at Rs 11.89 lakh in the country.
Volkswagen Taigun
As part of Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 strategy, the fourth car based on the MQB A0 IN platform, the Taigun has also scored the exact same points as its cousin Skoda Kushaq. It has managed to get the exact same scores of 29.63 out of 34 and 42 out of 49 in both adult and child occupant protection respectively. The country’s largest SUV manufacturer Mahindra’s most popular model, Scorpio N, has also managed to score a respectable score of 29.59 out of 34 in adult protection. Meanwhile, its child protection rating falls slightly short at 28.93 out of 49. Despite this, the car has garnered a huge following in the country, and it starts at Rs 13.6 lakh.
Hyundai Verna
Another one of the safest sedans in the country comes courtesy of Hyundai. The all-new facelifted Verna has scored 28.18 out of 34 in adult occupant protection and 42 out of 49 in child occupant protection.
