Toyota FT-3e is a boldly styled electric SUV concept

[ad_1]

Toyota has revealed its FT-3e concept at the Tokyo motor show, though not much is known about the electric SUV.

The brand has yet to release much in the way of details of the concept, other than to say it shares major components with the FT-Se sports car concept.

Up front it has a full-width light bar comprised of numerous individual vertical elements, while the headlight assembly features separate rectangular elements.

The bonnet has a two-tone effect that appears to take inspiration from the Lexus LF-ZL concept, including its central multi-layer air intakes.

Along the side the coupe-styled SUV offers flush door handles, and a digital screen on the driver’s side which displays the battery capacity and temperature.

Vertical lighting elements also appear on the lower part of the front and rear doors.

At the rear, the design is angular with a full-width LED light bar and two-tone bumper.

Toyota has adopted a similar interior design to the Lexus concept.

There are two small portrait-oriented displays on either side of the steering wheel, plus a digital instrument cluster.

The vehicle’s side mirrors are cameras which are displayed close to the windscreen inside the car.

There are additional displays on the dashboard close to the windscreen which display navigation directions and estimated arrival time as well as vehicle speed.

A large, landscape-oriented infotainment system is located on the dashboard just slightly towards the passenger side.

Toyota appears to have used fabric finishes for the dashboard and doors.

Toyota hasn’t confirmed whether this concept will see production, nor has it confirmed how large the FT-3e concept is – though it appears larger than the bZ4X.

The Tesla Model Y rival will arrive in Australia in February 2024, becoming the brand’s first electric vehicle in our market.
