MOHAWK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Florida man was arrested after being pulled over in Mohawk on Wednesday. Hector Ortiz-Jiminez, 47, faces multiple charges.
On Wednesday, around 7:30 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies pulled over Ortiz-Jiminez in the Town of Mohawk. Deputies say Ortiz-Jiminez was driving with a fake New Jersey temporary tag on the back of his car.
Law enforcement says a DMV inquiry confirmed the car wasn’t registered and the tag was fake. Ortiz-Jiminez was also found driving with a suspended driving privilege in New York for not answering prior traffic tickets, per deputies.
Charges:
- Second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument
- Third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation
- Unregistered motor vehicle
- Broken windshield glass
Ortiz-Jiminez was taken into custody and was processed at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He was later arraigned in Mohawk Town Court and is held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.
