Trail Blazers rookie guard Scoot Henderson will make his return against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday after missing nine games with an ankle injury, according to Portland coach Chauncey Billips

He was listed as questionable ahead of their tilt against the Jazz.

Henderson sustained the right ankle injury on Nov. 1 in a game against the Detroit Pistons. He was slated to miss two-to-three weeks with the injury.

According to Billups, Henderson will come off the bench for the first time in his NBA career. He also said that both he and guard Malcolm Brogdon will be on a minutes limit.

On Tuesday, the team said that Henderson was going to be assigned to the team’s G League Affiliate, the Rip City Remix. He did not take part in a game for the lower-level squad.

Henderson, the third-overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is off to a slow start in his NBA career, averaging 8.8 points and 4.6 assists per game while shooting a rough 34.6 per cent from the field and 9.5 per cent from deep in the five games he has suited up for.

The Trail Blazers (3-11) are in the middle of an eight-game losing streak and are on the second night of a back-to-back, having lost on Tuesday to the Phoenix Suns.
