Winter weather travel advisory issued for Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County | CBC News

The forecast for Tuesday is calling for between five to 10 cm snow and a risk of freezing drizzle in the morning. A winter weather travel advisory has been issued for Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County.

Freezing drizzle expected early in the morning

Prepare for a wintry mix of weather on Tuesday with snow and freezing drizzle in the forecast.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County.

“Snow is forecast to begin early Tuesday morning. The snow, at times heavy, will continue through the day before tapering to periods of light snow Tuesday evening,” the advisory says.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.”

Between five and 10 cm of snow is expected to fall throughout the day.

The high will be –1 C, with the wind chill making it feel more like –9 C at times.

The temperature is expected to remain steady overnight into Wednesday when there will be a winter warm-up. The forecast is calling for:

  • A cloudy high of 6 C on Wednesday.
  • Cloudy with a chance of showers and a high of 8 C for Thursday.
  • Cloudy and a high of 6 C for Friday.
