University of Waterloo students develop an on-demand fishing system in an effort to save endangered whales

In the past 7 years, at least 34 North Atlantic right whales (that we know of) have been killed, 21 of them in busy Canadian waters. Fishing gear entanglements and ship strikes are the main threats to these endangered mammals. Now, a group of students from the University of Waterloo may have found a solution. We hear from one of the founders of WhaleSafe, a national runner-up of the James Dyson award.
