Fantastic Video: This Old Ad For A Fiat 127 Features One Of The More Incredible Driving Sequences Ever
The Fiat 127 was one of those cars that people instantly ate up. Fiat sold ’em like they were free beer from the early 1970s right into the 1980s with little more than cosmetic upgrades. The car you see in the video below was built before 1977 so it was somewhere between that initial year of 1971 and 1977 because after that the front ends changed. If the car is stock, it also makes 45hp. We say that not to be derisive but to let you know what one of the most legendary stunt drivers of all time Remy Julienne was working with. Julienne has been involved in hundreds of films and has pulled off some of the coolest car stunts of all time. This may not rank among the greats in that regard but when you see what happens here, we know you’ll respect this guy even more.
The rough jumps that the car completes to start the video are cool but when he gets that little sucker up on the train it makes a move to the amazing. Running at what appears to be full throttle, Julienne runs the car from the rear of the train right up to the front, jumping each time he crests the top of another empty car hauler. He’s not just lifting a wheel, the guy is sky boxing this little car on top of a train that seems to be moving at a damned good clip.
One false move on top of that train and he’s boned because as you can see, there is no cage in that car. The thing would fold up like a cardboard box and that is assuming it DOES NOT get under the wheels of the flippin’ train. This is really something to watch and we think you’ll appreciate what went into making this film, especially form the driver’s perspective.
