Donny van de Beek’s loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt from Manchester United is unlikely to be made permanent, with the Dutchman simply not living up to expectations.
That’s according to Frankfurter Rundschau, who say the midfielder has been ‘full of mistakes’ in the gametime he’s been given so far, with his ‘lack of rhythm’ evident.
The newspaper explains that Van de Beek is ‘unlikely to have a great future’ at Eintracht, with there ‘little to nothing’ to suggest that the Dutchman’s loan agreement will result in a permanent move being done in the summer.
He’s often appeared ‘like a foreign body’ who is ‘timid and hesitant’ and full of mistakes to boot. All in all, he’s seemingly been a disastrous signing and there’s no hope in Frankfurt that will change.
Manager Dino Toppmöller has not given up on him just yet and he certainly hasn’t written him off, but the reality is that the team works better without the Manchester United loanee, and he’s done nothing to suggest he should be in the team either.
It’s all a bit of a mess and has led to questions about why Eintracht signed him in the first place.
That’s a debate for another day but there is no such confusion about the summer, when a permanent move from Manchester United is very unlikely to happen.
