Keane rages at Wright over obsession with athlete who eats 8,000 calories a day – Footymercato.com

Roy Keane raged at Ian Wright and Jill Scott and mocked how they reacted to the latest guest of the Stick to Football Podcast.
In a combination of playfulness and frustration, the former Manchester United and Republic and Ireland captain lived up to his straight-talking reputation. In a teaser released for the show, Keane attempted to put his colleagues in their place as he responded in disbelief at how starstruck they became.
It is perhaps little surprise that a man with no interest in autographs would hilariously troll his podcast co-stars as they were mind blown by the number of calories consumed by JJ Watt. In the aftermath of the discussion with the NFL legend, Gary Neville first commented that the guest had been ‘impressive’ before Wright chirped up.
“Jill you was fawning over him Jill, I can feel it,” he said. Keane then added: “Jill was like that [imitating a dog]. Jesus be professional,” he said while leaning forward, eyes wide.

“I know but his arms,” returned the former England midfielder. “He’s not only gorgeous but he’s impressive,” touted up Wright in support.
The moment Scott exclaimed ‘8,000 calories a day’ in astonishment and was backed up by ex-Premier League sharpshooter Wright, who compared the figure to James Haskell’s 4,000, proved enough for Keane.
“But you’re amazing. he needed 8000, he’s 6 foot 20 right, of course he’s got… but you lot are going ‘ooo 8000, treat him like a human’” said the former Sunderland boss. “I’ve never heard that before,” returned Wright.
Keane continued: “It’s going to be f*****g 8000 isn’t it. he’s six foot nine, he trains nine times a day, it’s going to be a lot. And when he said it you and Jill were like ‘oo is it really?’ You’re impressive. What did you have for your breakfast? Er rice crispies. Wow, Jesus? Christ. Have you got a kid? I’ve got a little boy. Wow! 20 sacks a season, that’s not enough, I’m telling you. The Fridge used to do better than that, the Fridge, Chicago Bears.

Wright took Keane’s opportunity to take a breath, to comment: “He’s gone now,” with Keane sparking laughter as he gingerly replied, “I hope he’s gone.”
Watt detailed his eating habits during his appearance on the show. The former Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans defensive end, who retired at the end of the 2022 season, admitted his calorie intake had significantly dropped and that eating in England proved difficult.
“One of the nicest parts about being retired is that I don’t have to eat at the same level that I had to before,” he said. “It’s an interesting thing being in England, finding enough protein over here is difficult, the meals just don’t have the same amount of protein, there is so much bread. I need some steak and fish.
“When I was playing, my average intake was about 7,500 calories a day, and right now I’m on around 4,500 calories a day. I train weights four days a week and do cardio three days a week. At my peak, it was two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners, it was like a job, and it all had to be very healthy.”
