Leicester rivals ‘will smell blood’ as summer fire sale mooted – Footymercato.com

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Leicester City’s rivals will “smell blood” and submit lowball offers for their best assets this summer.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed it will be hard for the Foxes to get “maximum value” for their players, even if they are promoted to the Premier League.
Leicester reported a loss of almost £90million for the 2022-23 season – taking total losses for their last three Premier League campaigns to over £215million.
The Midlands club have already been charged by the Premier League for breaching Profitability and Sustainability (PSR) regulations and face a potential points deduction if promoted.
Enzo Maresca’s side are currently locked in a three-way battle for automatic promotion with Leeds and Ipswich.

One potential sale is midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with Football Insider revealing earlier this week (9 April) that Tottenham are set to go head-to-head with Premier League rivals like Brighton and Brentford for his signature.
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “If they don’t go up, they won’t be able to get the money they want.
“Clubs will be smelling blood in the water with Leicester, knowing they are desperate to get deals done.
“I just think it’s going to be hard for them, even if they are promoted, to get maximum value.
“The players are high quality, but I don’t think there will be a big auction for them.”
