Hull City have taken advantage of this international break and travelled to Turkey for a training camp.

The Championship side are in Antalya and that gave the Turkish press an opportunity to have a chat with their manager, Liam Rosenior.

Asist Analiz took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to relay some of the comments made by the Hull City coach.

In January 2022, Turkish businessman Acun Ilıcalı, and his company Acun Medya, took over the English club.

Rosenior explained to the Turkish media that he has a good relationship with the Hull City chairman, and has backed him to be successful with the Tigers.

“Acun and I have a great rapport. He’s more like a brother than a friend. He always encourages us, always positive. Acun is a name that has been successful in everything he has done in his life. He will be successful here too,” he said.

The Englishman has stated that he follows Turkish football mainly because of Ilıcalı and Hull City midfielder Ozan Tufan.

“I’m more interested now. For example, I know Fenerbahçe closely. Acun is a good Fenerbahçe fan. Last year we played against Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly match and won 4-3. Galatasaray was a really strong team. Their coach and players are at European level,” Rosenior explained.

Hull City are currently seventh in the table with 58 points and are three points behind sixth placed Norwich City with a game in hand. The Tigers are in contention to make it to this season’s Championship play-offs.

Rosenior stated his side are dreaming of returning to the top flight and his comments are relayed by Cumhuriyet.

“The Premier League is a dream that the teams competing in the Championship dream of every year. My biggest goal is also the Premier League,” he added.

“Of course, in order to reach this goal, you need to be stable, the team needs to be in good form. You need to work hard. The Championship is a long marathon where 46 matches are played in a season. I believe that we will overcome all obstacles and make it to the Premier League from the play-offs.”
