Lopetegui is West Ham’s Emery – pundit wowed by ‘huge’ reveal – Footymercato.com

Julen Lopetegui would be a “huge” coup for West Ham United if they replace David Moyes.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson claimed the former Wolves boss could bring similar change to the London Stadium as Unai Emery has at Aston Villa.
As revealed by Football Insider (18 February), Lopetegui wants to take the Hammers job after rejecting Crystal Palace and is keen on a job at a top-10 side.
Amid a winless run in 2024, pressure continues to mount on Moyes with their 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (17 February) becoming their eighth in all competitions without a victory.
Julen Lopetegui can be West Ham’s Unai Emery
Robinson admitted that West Ham are in a “terrible” run of form, but backed Lopetegui to make a difference should he move to Stratford.
“I’ve spoken many times about the respect I have for David Moyes,” he told Football Insider.
“There’s been a lack of respect during his current situation considering where he’s taken them, the European trophy and there they still are in the league.
“Yes, West Ham are going through a terrible situation at the moment which is being highlighted by the ‘Moyes Out’ campaign.
“I understand the fans from that perspective as they’re looking at Aston Villa and what Unai Emery has done there.
“West Ham have the attacking players [to do the same as Villa].
“You’d probably say that Emery and Lopetegui are a similar level of manager.
“If Moyes is to move on and not sign a new contract, I expect an appointment like Lopetegui would get the fans excited.
“They’d play a different style of football, move forward and bring in a huge change.”
