We’ve shared all the parts of this build so far and you are going to dig it if you like it when a truck makes noise and smokes the tires inside the garage. We dig it and know you will too. This square body is an LS and manual trans swap, that has been done on the cheap and looks and works awesome. Check it out.
It’s kind of nice when you have a collection of Chevrolet trucks and SUVs that are sitting with their LS engines and transmissions just waiting to become donors for other projects, and that is exactly what Brent has got going on at Halfass Kustoms. So when his buddy asked for help in installing a 5.3 and a 5 speed, Brent was ready and waiting. If you missed the first three videos, use the link below to check them all out.
In the first couple of videos of Brent handling the swap, he had to find the right donor from behind the barn. After choosing one and making sure it doesn’t have issues, the engine is pulled and prepped, a cam swap is done thanks to some parts from BTR, and then got to planning for the engine install itself. Then he worked on brackets and the install. Then it was clutch and exhaust and some other mods to make it actually run, including wiring of course. And now it is time for it to make noise and smoke!
