Man Utd ‘schedule face-to-face Mason Greenwood meeting’ after speaking to dad – Footymercato.com

Manchester United are planning crunch talks over Mason Greenwood’s future in Spain after meeting the 22-year-old striker’s father at Carrington earlier this month, according to reports. The Red Devils are ramping up preparations to decide on the next steps for Greenwood at the end of his season-long loan at Getafe.

Ratcliffe made it clear that no topic was off limits in his first address to the media after completing his £1.3billion investment in the club last week.

Greenwood’s future was unsurprisingly on the agenda amid strong interest in whether United will hand him another chance at Old Trafford or cash in on him this summer.

Ratcliffe’s most notable answer read: “It’s quite clear we have to make a decision. The process will be to understand the facts, not the hype, and then try to come to a fair decision based on values.

“Is he a good guy or not? Could he play sincerely for Manchester United well, and would we be comfortable with it, and would the fans be comfortable with it?”

Reports suggest work is ongoing behind the scenes to find an outcome at the end of the campaign, when Greenwood would have one year left on his contract, with the option of a further 12 months.

According to The Athletic, United football director John Murtough held discussions with Greenwood’s dad, Andrew, at the club’s Carrington training base a fortnight ago.
