Manchester United ‘ready to pay the clause’ to seal signing – Not bothering with talks, would pay full amount – Sport Witness – Footymercato.com

Manchester United are ‘ready to the pay the clause’ for Juventus defender Gleison Bremer and skip any potential negotiation with the Italians.

That’s according to La Repubblica, who say Manchester United are happy to put the money required on the table and get a deal done.

They explain that Bremer’s future is still to be written, with a question mark over his continuity despite him being a key player under Max Allegri.

That’s because the Premier League, specifically Manchester United, are ready to pay the clause in his current contract ‘without negotiation’.

Juventus, for their part, would like to continue with the Brazilian in the middle of their defence but the economic situation at the club means they have to consider offers if they arrive. That is why the €60m clause in Bremer’s current contract, which doesn’t activate until next summer according to reports elsewhere in Italy, is ‘a gate that could open wide’.

There is an agreement in place between the player’s entourage and Juventus that states if any suitors offer that amount, then they will consider ‘the possibility of separating’.

Manchester United are happy to pay that figure outright and avoid any negotiation, according to La Repubblica, lead to a discussion being had.

Whether that’s the reality, though, is up for debate. Numerous reports in Italy have taken this line over the last few weeks but it feels more like them trying to convince United they have that money to spend rather than them actually being willing to do so.

Indeed, the situation is very similar to the one around Kim Min-jae last season when Italian claims insisted he’d join Manchester United and then he suddenly ended up at Bayern Munich instead.

Perhaps United have learned their lessons from that and that’s why they’d now be happy to spend quickly on Bremer, but for now these reports need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
