Mbappe risks wrath of Real Madrid amid ongoing talks over big-money transfer – Footymercato.com

Kylian Mbappe is on a collision course with Real Madrid after revealing his Olympic ambitions.
The Frenchman continues to be linked with a big-money move to the Spanish side this summer. His contract with current employers Paris Saint-Germain expires in a matter of months.
Real Madrid would then be able to swoop for him on a free transfer, and it has already been revealed that they are willing to break the bank to commit him to a contract. But he could leave his new employers disgruntled straight away by playing at the Olympics, which takes place in Paris this summer.
Confirming his ambitions to play at the Games, Mbappe said: “I have always had the same ambition. I have always said that I wanted to go [to the Olympics] but it doesn’t depend on me.

Barcelona president warns Real Madrid over Kylian Mbappe after ‘reading the transfer figures’
“I can’t say anything because no one has told me anything. If I can’t do the Olympics so be it … When I say no one has told me anything, I am talking about PSG. I am under contract with PSG and they haven’t said anything [about the Olympics]. We haven’t discussed it,” he added.
While Mbappe has expressed his intent to represent France at the Olympics, Real Madrid might have something to say about that. According to ESPN, the Spanish side have sent an email to the French Football Federation confirming that they are not releasing their players for the Games.
As it stands, that would include midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga – while Mbappe would join that group once he becomes a Real Madrid player. The Olympics are usually an under-23 tournament but teams are permitted three overage players.

The Olympics football tournament is due to take place from July 24 to August 9. It is not yet known whether that would overlap with the 2024/25 La Liga season with the schedule having not yet been released.
But it is sure to cut it fine with this season having started on August 9. Away from his Olympic ambitions, Mbappe was also asked for an update on his future but refused to confirm if he was set to become a Real Madrid player.
“I haven’t announced anything yet because I have nothing to announce … I am sorry I have nothing to tell you,” he said, before adding: “I think it will all be sorted out before the Euros.”
Elsewhere, PSG boss Luis Enrique has remained tight-lipped on a potential Mbappe exit. He said: “Mbappe to Real Madrid? I don’t know, no one knows. Only Kylian knows. When all parties involved decide to share the truth and their decisions, we will be there to listen.”
