Panel: If you could make one fight in 2024, what would it be? | Boxing News

Tony Sims (Trainer)

I’d make the Benn-Eubank Jr fight. And then there’s Joshua-Fury if they both come through their next fights. It also depends on how they look in those fights. See what they’ve both got left in the tank. I think Joshua’s got a good style to beat Fury, but then Fury’s difficult to beat. It’s one of them fights the whole country wants to see.

Zach Parker (Super-middleweight contender)

Joshua-Wilder or Fury-Joshua. It’s the Battle of the Brits. Everyone loves the heavyweights at the minute. Saudi Arabia is pulling out all the stops to get the big fights made. I can see Wilder knocking Joshua out, too. For myself I’d want a [super-middleweight] world title shot. Canelo’s there, I’d love the David Benavidez fight. There’s a lot of big fights out there to be made in 2024.

Kevin Mitchell (Former world title challenger)

Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez. It would be a very interesting fight and it would be for me as a boxing fan. Crawford is unbelievable, he’s a great. I think Canelo is past his best but he’s also still very dangerous and he’s a lot bigger than Crawford, but Crawford could put enough weight on and maybe Canelo could drop a bit.

Declan Warrington (Sports Journalist)

Terence Crawford-Jaron Ennis. Not that it seems remotely likely to happen. But it has everything — unlike a likelier fight between Crawford and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez that Crawford wouldn’t win. It’s two fighters of the very highest quality, who are well-matched, and would divide observers over whether Ennis is ready to succeed Crawford. It’s the only victory that would really enhance Crawford’s legacy; it could also make Ennis a star.
